Letter sent by Judge Thomas White to his wife Catherine White on May 28, 1864. Judge White sends along an article from the Herald newspaper which contains a list of prisoners and casualties from the Battle of Drewrys Bluff. Among those listed as taken prisoner is Richard White, Thomas and Katharine's son. The list confirms that Richard was not wounded during his capture. Judge White reminds his wife that not all of the reports she hears can be relied upon and that she should not let them ruin her spirit.
