Abstract
This study was designed to explore how MA TESOL international students understand MA thesis research writing in the U.S. context. The participants were four MA TESOL international students. The data was collected through one semi-structured interview per participant and presented in the form of a qualitative case for each one. The data was analyzed and discussion was made around three themes. The themes that emerged from the data as the following: thesis research writing: rational and benefits, thesis research writing supervision, and the process of completing MA thesis research. The study concluded with implications for preparing international students to successfully complete MA thesis research, limitations of the study and directions for future research.
